Jim R. Rogers, M. Ed., CFLE, an emeritus Nationally certified Parenting and Family Life Educator, and Vice President/Treasurer of Still Learning, Inc., is a radiant individual whose commitment to family enrichment and education shines brightly. With three children, four grandchildren, and the pride of being a great-grandfather, Jim’s family legacy is a testament to his values.

From 1992 to 2006, Jim served as the owner/director of ParentsCare, a company dedicated to facilitating Family Enrichment Programs prioritizing parents and children. This venture later became an integral part of still learning, inc. As a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) through the National Council on Family Relations, Jim’s expertise extends to being a Certified Parent Instructor (CICC, Los Angeles). He is an active member of the National Council on Family Relations, National Parenting Education Network (NPEN), and has contributed to various organizations such as the International Alliance of Invitational Education.

Since 1993, Jim has conducted impactful parenting workshops for the Horry County Department of Social Services, Coastal Carolina University’s Continuing Education programs, Horry County School District Summer Leadership Conference, S.C. Child Care Association, and D.A.R.E. State conference. His influence reaches religious organizations, child care centers, and private and public schools. Notably, Jim has been a guest speaker at national conferences, including Freedom Schools from Children’s Defense Fund, The Parenting Institute annual conference, and the South Carolina Association of School Administrators. molestie est vehicula netus sed efficitur.

As a distinguished member of the newly formed Southeastern Council on Family Relations, Jim was invited to present workshops on engaging parents in their parenting education and discussing career opportunities for new graduates in family life studies. For over 19 years, Jim contributed a parenting column to the regional family newspaper Parent News and remains a regular guest on local television stations. He has crafted parenting workshops, leader guides, and training curricula for social services, family courts, child care facilities, and schools.

From 1993 to 2006, Jim was employed at the CENTER FOR EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY COASTAL CAROLINA UNIVERSITY as the staff Parent and Family Life Educator (CFLE). He facilitated workshops, consulted on parent training, involvement, and family literacy, and coordinated H.O.M.E in the Center—a Family Resource Center. Furthermore, Jim served as the Media Specialist for Center Projects.

Jim’s educational journey includes earning a Master of Education in Early Childhood from Coastal Carolina University in 1994. He also pursued studies at Antioch University, Marina Del Rey, CA, focusing on Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on child development and psychotherapy from 1991 to 1992. His academic foundation was laid at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC, where he graduated in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, including minors in English and Drama.

Before transitioning to parenting education, Jim dedicated 35 years to service businesses, showcasing exceptional people skills in roles such as Senior Vice President, corporate ombudsman, and company owner/president. His prior experiences in radio, television, advertising, and broadcast/media production, across cities like Charlotte, Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles, earned him recognition as a National award-winning director/producer.

A retired member of the Director’s Guild of America, Jim directed several productions at the Center, including Calling All Colors: The Quilts, Jump For The Sun, and Who Makes Us Us? We Do. His involvement in Parent News spanned from 1994 to 2013, where he contributed the column “ParentsCare,” addressing diverse issues in parenting, from corporal punishment to family management skills. Jim’s dedication and impact continue to illuminate the realm of parenting education, leaving an enduring legacy of wisdom and compassion.

Still Learning, Inc.  puts parents and children first through family enrichment programs. Parenting education and family management skills are offered in private conference, workshop and seminar settings.

The ParentsCare curriculum deepens and broadens knowledge and resources in parenting and family management education. It invites parents and caregivers to participate in the processes of building and maintaining the best possible relationships with children.

Education is the core; education for affirming, healing, prevention, empowerment and developing the adults who are developing young children who feel good about who they are and about the environment in which they live.

ParentsCare is the copyrighted parenting and family life management education curriculum developed by Jim in 1996 and continues to be the foundation of his parenting and family life workshops, classes, seminars and private conferences. It continues to be a work in progress and is being updated as new research and information dictate changes.
It also completed the second year of being the core of the Parenting and Family Life Management Education Facilitator certification course at Horry Georgetown Technical College. 18 students received certification in 2008 followed by another 28 in 2009 and are now applying the ParentsCare strategies in their particular areas which range from child care facilities, to public and private schools, to domestic abuse shelters and faith organizations. In two counties the department of social services and family courts have designated ParentsCare a recommended class for clients being required to attend parenting classes, and several of the certified facilitators are now conducting those classes.
still learning, inc. and ParentsCare have also developed COEP, Co-Operative Effective Parenting for parents who are parenting apart, co-parenting in divorce or separated situations and who might be referred by family courts or legal advisors.

Jim recently served as the resident parenting and family life consultant for a Mom-to-Mom blog that was offered by the regional McClatchy newspaper The Sun News.

Jim was also a monthly column contributor to The Myrtle Beach Herald for three years, two during the pandemic, with attempts to help families struggle with the changes in family life.

“Who Makes Us Us? We Do.” Is a 25 minute video written, produced and directed by Jim and contains the core values of his ParentsCare teachings.
